Dam: Caprice Acres PGM Lovinia 4*M (pend)
Sire: QMF Carrier of the Stone (Atlas)
Joanna’s dam, Lovinia, is a powerhouse doe with many highly performative relatives in her close up Pedigree. ELITE sires Mathias and Legacy have daughters appraising very well, and milking very well. As a FF, Lovinia kidded at 11 months old and milked 2739lb milk in just 272 days of milk. Again, at 11 months old she produced almost 3000lbs and might have made it if I could have had a longer lactation on her! This year she is already producing >13lbs of milk at peak, and it will be exciting to see how she performs for another lactation. She kidded with just a single daughter (Joanna) and despite a fever/diarrhea bout between milk tests, she seems to be on an excellent track for >3000lbs this year at just 2yo. She appraised very strongly as well as a 2yo, at VG89.
Joanna is a very strong doe, with superb depth of body. She is the largest kid of 2025 as well. She is very reminiscent of her dam, but am very excited to see how her sire (QMF Carrier of the Stone – aka Atlas) influences her udder and production. Atlas is sired by a historic Nodaway buck – and I am a huge fan of the Nodaway herd. His dam was a full genetic sister to a doe that has always been in my herd – Caprice Acres Irish Red EX91; However she was sold as a very young bottle kid and was not managed well. She was stunted horribly when I brought her back as a dry yearling. I gifted her to my good friend Heather Quick who took wonderful care of her but unfortunately stunting that occurs through the fast growth stage of young animals can never be overcome and she never met her genetic potential. Knowing her genetics, Atlas was retained and he has matured to a lovely herdsire in his own right, but his daughters are producing and appraising very well in the Quarter Mile (QMF) herd.
